Apocalypse LOL II: Surviving 12.12.12

The end of the Mayan Long Count Calendar continues to creep up on us, with December 21, 2012 marking the end of the world.

Or Friday. Some see the glass as half full, others see the apocalypse.

Well if it is truly going to happen, and it's all a numbers game, then in order for us to die on 12/21/12 we have to survive today, 12/12/12, a date that is, if anything, more terrifyingly meaningless. To anyone who observes that we won't see another date like this — the same number three times — in our lifetimes, you can point out that in fact every date is unique and once it's gone, it's gone forever. We won't see 12/12/12 again in our lifetimes? Well, we won't see 12/11/12 again either but you didn't get freaked out about that yesterday, did you?

Or did we just blow your mind?

Turtle Island has made it most of the way through the repetitive 12/12/12 at this point, and it's our feeling that we'll live to see 12/13/12 — so perhaps we can breathe a sigh of relief and allow ourselves a chuckle. Here are more fun images that came from the internet regarding the possible end of the world. If you like these, you'll want to check out our first installment, if you missed it. Just do it quicklike.
