Poarch Creek Member Kelly Fayard Named Yale Assistant Dean

Kelly Fayard, an enrolled member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, was recently appointed as the director of the Native American Cultural Center and assistant dean at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.

Previous to taking the position at Yale, she was an assistant professor of anthropology at Bowdoin College in Maine, she served as an academic advisor to students, and was Bowdoin’s faculty representative to the Native American Student Association.

Fayard studied at the University of Michigan, where she earned a Ph.D. in anthropology and a certificate in museum studies. She earned her bachelor’s in cultural anthropology at Duke University.
