30th Annual Native American Connections Parade: “Strengthening the Future of Native Americans through Sports, Health and Wellness” in Phoenix

More than 10,000 area businesses, residents and local workforce community members are expected to attend this year’s Native American Connections parade in Phoenix on Saturday, October 13.

Native American Connections has invited local sponsors, marching bands, riding clubs, sports teams, cultural artists and dancers, and floats celebrating this year’s theme “Strengthening the Future of Native Americans through Sports, Health and Wellness.”

The parade will start at Oak and 3rd Street in downtown Phoenix and travel north to Steele Indian School Park. Parade step off is at 9 a.m. and usually lasts about two hours. There will be judging and awards for all categories of floats, music and marchers.

Native American Connections, based in Phoenix, works to improve the lives of individuals and families through Native American culturally appropriate behavioral health, affordable housing, and community development services. Since 1972, they’ve been changing lives, strengthening families, and building healthy communities. In that time, they’ve grown from a small grassroots organization operating one program for Native American men in recovery from substance abuse into one which now owns and operates 15 sites throughout Central Phoenix offering a continuum of affordable housing and behavioral health services which touch the lives of over 5,000 individuals and families each year.

The annual parade is always a spectacular affair, and all are invited to come down to witness the event.  For full details, including a map of the parade route, click here
