AIAI Livestreams Its Annual General Assembly

Breaking technological boundaries and reaching out directly to the people, the Association of Iroquois and Allied Indians (AIAI) is livestreaming its Annual General Assembly on the Web during the three-day meeting, which runs from May 30 through June 1.

Besides electing a new Grand Chief, the AIAI will hear from candidates for both the Assembly of First Nations National Chief position and the Chiefs of Ontario, which both have elections this year.

“This is yet another step forward in opening our lines of communication to our membership and to the public, and we are committed to using technology to help achieve this goal,” said Grand Chief Denise Stonefish.

The AIAI will not only webcast the event but also make recorded versions available online afterward.

“The live stream and subsequent recording of the AGA will compliment the online presence of the AIAI which has been set in motion already with a redesigned website and social media effort,” the AIAI said in a statement.

The broadcast comes thanks to the assembly’s host, the Delaware Nation, which recently added high-speed-internet connection to its technological offerings, the AIAI said.
