Lac du Flambeau Group Receives Financial Literacy Award

The Lac du Flambeau Tribe is part of a group of 11 business and financial experts that won a financial literacy award from the state of Wisconsin this week, reported wjfw.com.

Zhoonyia Gikendasowin (pronounced JOON-nia Geek- EN-DAZ-oh-Win) means "Money Knowedge" in the Ojibwe language. Since 2008, the group, which also includes the Chippewa Valley Bank and the office of Financial Literacy of Wisconsin, among others, helps tribal and non-tribal members with financial issues related to credit scores, home loans, estate planning, benefits and more.
