Created in 1984, National Travel and Tourism Week (May 7-15) includes dozens of destinations nationwide which celebrate travel and tourism and highlight their importance to local economies all over the country.
As a part of this week, he Chickasaw Nation’s Department of Tourism has recently made various contributions to the state of Oklahoma.
A recent relocation to the first floor of the old Bunte Candy Factory has allowed for plans to include a Chickasaw Nation Tourism Information Center as well as a retail space, which will include the Bedre cafe. They have also finalized their new brand, which they plan to launch in 2012. The brand will promote all the Nation has to offer as well as promote the bounty of tourism opportunities in south-central Oklahoma. Along with the new brand, the Chickasaw Nation is rolling out a new website.
