Columbus Day: The E-Cards

On the internet, if you have an itch to express yourself with cutting sarcasm, there’s no more popular way to do it than an e-card. Why? What is responsible for the rise of the e-card? We cannot say, but something about the combination of a clip-art image, sans-serif text and a pastel background conveys cynicism, weary apathy or thinly-veiled rage in a special way.

On Columbus Day, there’s no shortage of all of the above, and likewise no shortage of e-cards tackling the subject. Below are 11 we found on Tumblr.

(And we’ll take this opportunity to point out that we, ICTMN, are on Tumblr ourselves—give us a follow at indiancountry.tumblr.com.)
