As native people we celebrate and give thanks every day, not just on the European-designated day of observance. We give thanks to the Creator for our sustenance, the air we breathe, the water we drink, the trees, the Sun and the Moon and that which brings the change of seasons. We give thanks for all who crawl, walk or swim. The four-leggeds, wingeds, and those who provide, and the spirits of those who have made the journey to the Spirit World. We also pray for the less fortunate and those who cannot do for themselves. We pray for the elders and those in harm’s way.
