FORT YATES, N.D. – A new $1 million, 3,400-square-foot, Financial Center is the latest addition to the Sitting Bull College campus, located in Fort Yates, N.D.
“This new facility moves us one step closer to completing our new campus project,” said Sitting Bull College President Dr. Laurel Vermillion. “It’s truly a welcomed comfort to now have our finance staff on the new campus, because they are the heart of our financial operations.”
The center, located next to the Family Support Center (daycare), houses eight offices, including the college’s Business Office, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Job Placement Training Program (JPTP)/Student Housing office, Campus Mail and the USDA Office of Advocacy and Outreach for Tribal Colleges.

An open house celebration for the new Financial Center was held June 16, at the new Sitting Bull College campus – 9299 Hwy 24, just south of the Standing Rock Community High School.
Reverend John Floberg of the North Dakota Episcopal Diocese blessed the building prior to the open house celebration.
No public dedication program was held, however, personal tours were provided and refreshments were available to those visitors who stopped by to see the new facility.
