FireLake Grand Casino is delivering a powerful punch for a cause. The Shawnee, Oklahoma-based casino, owned and operated by the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, is showcasing freestyle cage fighting this Saturday, October 1, and proceeds will go to the fight against breast cancer.
Through a partnership with Take Charge!, Oklahoma’s breast and cervical cancer early detection program, funds generated from Cage Fights for the Cure will help provide mammograms to those who qualify and cannot afford them. The funds will help pay for physician fees associated with the breast exams, said Carla Tollett, marketing director for Take Charge!, in the casino’s press release.
Cage Fights for the Cure’s main event will feature Kaitlin Young versus Jan Finney. Both fisticuffs are eager to add a win to their column, so the bout is expected to keep fans on the edge of their seats.
Hailing from Circle Pines, Minnesota, Young will bring her Muay Thai-style fighting to the ring with a 4-5-0 (win-loss-draw) record. Jan “Cuddles” Finney from Beavercreek, Ohio holds an 8-9-0 (win-loss-draw) record.
