The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes take great pride in honoring our tribal armed service veterans for the month of November. The following events is our way of saying “Thank You” to those in our community and surrounding neighbors who have served the United States of America and helped preserve our liberties. The Indian Health Services (I.H.S) center will be hosting a tribute wall in honor of all Veterans and service men for the whole month of November. A wall at the entrance way of I.H.S has always been dedicated to I.H.S staffs who are active corporate officers. But this year they are extending the invitation community wide to all veterans to bring in a photo to be scanned, framed and placed on the tribute wall. On Sunday, November 11th the Osborne family will host their Annual Veterans Breakfast at the Tribal Elderly Nutrition Center (north side of the Tribal Business Center off Mission Road on Councilman Way road). The breakfast is free and will be served at 9:00AM. The agenda includes a sunrise ceremony, 49 songs and posting of colors. All brotherhood veterans, men and women, of all color are welcome. On Saturday, November 17th the Fort Hall Casino will host a contest Veteran’s Powwow at the Shoshone-Bannock Hotel & Event Center with grand entries starting at 1PM and 7PM with a feast at 5:00PM. Door prizes and gifts will be provided for veterans. All invited drums will be paid.
