Genealogy Workshop for Beginners

A Genealogy Workshop for Beginners will take place January 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Governor Charles B. Aycock Birthplace State Historic Site, at 264 Governor Aycock Road, in Fremont, North Carolina.

Debra Blake and Chris Meekins, from the North Carolina Office of Archives and History, will give an overview of genealogy, tell attendees how to be productive when conducting genealogy research, and explain why the state’s archives is a valuable resource.

Space is limited and registration is required. The cost of the workshop is $10 for adults and $5 for students. To register call 919-242-5581 or e-mail aycock@ncdcr.gov.
