The Department of Chemistry in the College of Science, Health & Engineering at Eastern Washington University invites applications to fill two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions located on our Cheney campus to begin September 2013. The department seeks candidates who show the potential of becoming excellent teachers, scholars, mentors, and role models for undergraduates, and who are enthusiastic about teaching at the undergraduate level.
We seek candidates with expertise in the following areas: organic chemistry, experimental physical and/or biophysical chemistry. Candidates will have teaching responsibilities involving one or more areas depending on their area(s) of expertise, such as teaching the year-long health science chemistry sequence, teaching courses in organic chemistry, and/or general chemistry, and/or upper division courses. Each successful candidate will also be expected to participate in service activities and to develop and maintain an active research program and seek external funding to support their research.

o Demonstrated potential for scholarship based on previous publication record.
o Additionally, candidates must offer ability, experience and/or interest in promoting cultural competency and/or diversity.
Preferred Qualifications: Postdoctoral research experience in a relevant field.
