Dylan Tenorio, a Kewa Pueblo member and a junior at the Santa Fe Indian School, has won the Congressional Art Competition for the Third Congressional District of New Mexico. “Congratulations to Dylan for winning the prestigious honor of having his work of art displayed in our nation’s Capitol for visitors from across the country to view,” said United States Representative Ben Ray Luján. “I look forward to welcoming him to Washington, D.C. as we honor all of the national winners.”
The Congressional Art Competition selects a work of art by a high school student from each of the nation’s participating congressional districts. Winning pieces are displayed in the United States Capitol for one year; the competition began in 1982.
Tenorio’s pencil drawing, “1912,” celebrates the upcoming 100-year anniversary of New Mexico’s statehood.
