Laphillda Tso, in an announcement by Navajo Nation President Ben Shelly, was named as the new Communications Director for the Navajo Nation President and Vice President’s Office.
Tso was the former public information officer for the Navajo Nation Speaker’s Office and the Navajo Housing Authority and earned her new position through her desire to help and lead according to a press release.
She earned her bachelor’s of science degree in advertising and public relations in 2008 from Northern Arizona University and has held positions as advertising sales representative, NAU Financial Aid Office’s Communication Specialist.
“Ms. Tso is an asset to our office because it is important the Nation have a spokeswoman of her experience who can communicate with our grandmas, grandpas and who can work with regional, state and national media operations,” Shelly said.
“As the communications director, there are more challenges to come and with the power of knowledge, prayer and kindness, I will represent the Navajo Nation with the utmost respect and be a role model for the Navajo people,” Tso said.
