Largest Crowd Celebrates Bataan Memorial Death March

Sam J. Antonio, Pueblo of Acoma, is a military veteran, was joined by approximately 6,400 military and civilian participants from all 50 states and five countries for the 22nd Annual Bataan Memorial Death March at the White Sands Missile Range on March 27th.

The event was the largest in its history.

Antonio, Bataan survivor, who has received various medals of honor, including the Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Achievement in Ground Combat; Prisoner of War Medal; Army Good Conduct Medal; Presidential Unit Citation; American Defense Service Medal; American Campaign Medal; Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal; World War II Victory Medal; Philippine Defense Ribbon; and Honorable Service Lapel Button WWII.
