President Barack Obama announced his intent to nominate individuals for four administration posts along with his intent to appoint two others in a press release from the White House on September 14.
Obama offered his nod for Brad Carson as general counsel of the Army, Department of Defense; Alastair Fitzpayne as assistant secretary for Legislative Affairs, Department of the Treasury; Michael A. McFaul as ambassador to the Russian Federation, Department of State; and Kevin A. Ohlson as judge, United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.
At the same time H. Fisk Johnson was appointed as member of the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations; and Thomas L. McKiernan was appointed as member of the Board of Visitors to the United States Air Force Academy.

“I am pleased to announce that these experienced and committed individuals have agreed to join this Administration, and I look forward to working with them in the months and years ahead,” Obama said in the press release.
