More Navajo trailblazers

The [Associated Press] article by Felicia Fonseca about Navajo candidate Lynda Lovejoy might have noted that singer, writer and teacher Kay (Kaibah) Bennett was the first woman to run for president at Navajo in 1990. It was not easy to break the ice, but she campaigned determinedly across Navajo Nation, where she was greeted with respect but much skepticism. I believe Lenore Fulton was the second woman to run, in 1998.
