Morongo Casino Gets 4 Green Keys Rating

Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa has received a “4 Green Keys” rating through the Green Key Eco-Rating Program, “a graduated rating system designed to recognize hotels, motels and resorts that are committed to improving their environmental and fiscal performance,” a Morongo press release stated.

“We are proud to be recognized for our accomplishments in environmental management and corporate social responsibility,” said Thomas Mueller, Director of Hotel Operations, Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa in the press release. “As one of the largest tribal gaming facilities in the country we strive to implement green initiatives that will have a positive impact on the planet.”

There are nine areas of sustainable hotel operations that the Green Key Self-Assessment considers, such as energy and water conservation. Hotels are then given a one to five Green Key rating based upon the results of a comprehensive environmental self-assessment, and are given guidance on how to “unlock opportunities to reduce environmental impacts and operating costs through reduced utility consumption, employee training, and supply chain management.”
