Native American Film Festival Highlights History

Northland Pioneer College, a school with four campuses in Arizona, will celebrate Native American Heritage Month with a Native American Film Festival. From November 15 to 23, all nine college libraries will be showing films highlighting Native American history.

On November 15, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Winslow, Arizona location, the film “Reel Injun” by Cree filmmaker Neil Diamond will be screened. The film explores the portrayal of Native Americans on the silver screen.

When Your Hands Are Tied,” an educational film that explores how Native American youth are expressing themselves in the contemporary world while still living traditional lifestyles, will be shown on November 21 at 5 p.m. at the Springerville/Eager location.
