As part of the Bloomfield Historical Society’s Local History/Local Resources Series, it will present an interactive look at the archaeology, history and culture of Native Americans of the Great Lakes on Sunday, September 23 at the Bloomfield Township Public Library.
The speaker will be Cameron Wood, of the Cranbrook Institute of Science, who will focus on the Ojibway, Ottawa and Potawatomi and discuss who their ancestors are and what their history is. Wood will also discuss historic events from the Oakland County area.
The event will take place from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the library, 1099 Lone Pine Road, in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan in the library’s community room. The event is open to the public and is free of charge. For more information call the library at 248-642-5800.
