9 Native Style Christmas Memes and Cartoons

Happy Native Christmas! We here at ICTMN surely want to wish all of our readers the best for this Holiday Season and wish all of you a safe and happy holiday season to be spent with friends, family and other loved ones.

In a spirit of Christmas lighthearted-ness, we perused the Internet waves in order to find a few funny memes, jokes or other such fanfare that mixes a bit of Native and Christmas spirit. So in this light, here are nine Native style Christmas memes and cartoons.

And again Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!

Santa Does Exist

First of all Ancient Indigenous Cave Wall drawings prove the existence of Santa Claus. Yes, this may be a meme, joke or a bit of sarcasm, but we submit to you this is NOT a joke, this is NOT sarcasm, Santa Claus is real, and…here goes… the writing is on the wall. (sorry about that – I couldn’t resist.)

Santa doesn’t want milk and cookies – give him frybread and Pepsi

This chillin Santa with sunglasses and a microphone seems to be telling the kids that when he visits the rez, keep the milk and cookies away – he’s probably lactose intolerant anyway. Give him FRYBREAD!

Santa brings a canoe to the Rez

Knowing full well his reindeer could be at serious risk at ending up in a pot of reindeer stew or as the next piece of regalia worn by the tribal chairman – Santa brings a canoe to any rez visit.

His Native Name is Flies with Reindeer

Ok, a shout out to artist Whyatt, who found humor in naming the big red dude. I don’t know why Kevin Costner wasn’t in this card to further the stereotype – but we will go with it.

The reindeer hunt went very well

I found this classic online – yes the Chairman thinks his people should apologize to St. Nick – but the hunt went so well – the skins are already hanging out to dry – so I really don’t see a problem here.

Santa in Therapy

Well Santa seems to be troubled – or heartbroken rather because when he visits the rez all the kids keep asking for the same thing – their land back. Disturbing St. Nick? Good.

Where the (Bleep) are all your Reindeer?

But Santa, you were only away from your sleigh with Reindeer for a few minutes and now you say – they are missing? Hmmmm. Maybe you should look back to the previous panels (aka the reindeer hunt) for a bit of perspective.

Santa will be late – NDN Time

Maybe Santa has let the Rez rub off on him – he is going to be late – according to Indian time that is. But wait – if he is on Indian Time – doesn’t that mean he is actually going to be early? Thanks to LillyPalmer1 on Instagram who posted this.

Watch out for those teepee poles!

Cree Hummer on Blingee created this funny meme of Santa Claus having a seriously hard time making his delivery – Hey Santa – I don’t think the door is locked.
