All-Nations Native Veterans Memorial in Jefferson, Oregon

One Native Veteran’s Efforts to Create a Memorial Continue to Draw Attention

As ICTMN recently reported, Bill Stam, Lakota, is creating an all-Nations Native Veterans Memorial in his hometown of Jefferson, Oregon. The Mayor of Jefferson, Michael D. Myers, even sent ICTMN a thoughtful letter discussing Mr. Stam’s work.

Now, the mainstream media is picking up on this remarkable story. Today, the Albany Democrat-Herald has this exceptional feature on the effort.

We encourage discussion about this and all Native Veterans issues. As it’s Native American Heritage Month, we also ask, What does Native American Heritage Month mean to you? Send us your poems, stories and photos for possible publication to editor@ictmn.com.
