Today, millions of Americans will remember the devastating tragedy that occurred 12 years ago on September 11, 2001. And just as we as a nation have rebuilt our lives, so has the World Trade Center been rebuilt as a symbol of our country's freedom and resilience.
As the building nears completion, EarthCam has released a video today, highlighting construction progress from October 2004 to September 2013. This commemorative video features hundreds of thousands of high-definition images were captured over the past nine years to show the rise of One World Trade Center, including the spire installation, bringing it to a symbolic and staggering height of 1,776 feet.
"Providing and maintaining the World Trade Center and September 11 Memorial Museum webcams for over 10 years is a passion project for our company," said Lisa Kelly, Director of Strategic Sales at EarthCam, "We are proud to donate the footage to the world, showing the rebirth of lower Manhattan."
