Victor Rocha, owner and editor of Pechanga.net, will be honored with the Casino Marketing Lifetime Achievement Award at the eighth annual Casino Marketing Conference, held July 18-20 at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. The “hard-hitting, senior-level conference” addresses marketing challenges throughout the gaming industry, and attracted more than 100 different gaming operators and other gaming industry companies in 2010.
The Lifetime Achievement Award, established in 2004, honors “individuals who have made outstanding contributions to all the areas of casino marketing, including public relations and communications, which are critical to the gaming industry’s success,” said Dennis Conrad, president and chief strategist of Raving Consulting Company and co-producer of the Casino Marketing Conference with BNP Media.
Rocha created Pechanga.net in 1998. In its first year, the website was credited with transforming public opinion and helping to pass Proposition 5, also known as the California Tribal-State Gaming Compacts Initiative.
Pechanga.net now averages over two million hits per month, or more than 70,000 per day, stated the press release.
