White House Website Removes Native American, LGBT, Climate Change, Healthcare & Civil Rights Web Pages

Web archives will forever exist at Obama White House archives website

At the moment Donald Trump was sworn into office as our country’s 45th President on Friday January 20th, the Native American, LGBT, Climate Change, Healthcare & Civil Rights web pages were removed from the White House website.

President Obama’s White House Web Archives still exist at ObamaWhitehouse.Archives.gov.

Any references to Native American efforts under Obama’s Whitehouse.Gov/NativeAmericans pages to include the White House Tribal Nations Conference, the Native American Heritage Month presidential proclamation and more is now gone.

Any references to the LGBT efforts are also gone, the official White House webpage WhiteHouse.gov/LGBT, redirects to a splash page encouraging visitors to sign up for updates from President Trump and displays, “ Sorry, the requested page you’re looking for could not be found.”

Similar results occur with Climate Change, Healthcare & Civil Rights web pages.

The GLAAD organization on Instagram posted a before and after picture of the Trump administration vs. the Obama administration adding: “A search for “LGBT” day one of the Obama administration vs. a search for “LGBT” day one of the Trump administration.”

Musician Tony Enos, who is both Native American and a member of the LGBT2S community said he is furious the change to the site. He shared his opinions in an email to ICMN.

“My President has finished a job well done, and in his place, the American government has placed an attention whore. Therefore, I refuse to post, comment, or otherwise acknowledge any Trump posts, television or news.

My next four years will be spent celebrating the amazing work President Obama has done, and keeping it alive. The sun will still come up tomorrow, I’ll still be a two spirit man, I’ll still make music, and I’ll still go to my grave fighting for our children and defending their innocence. I’ll still be right here on the front lines where I’ve always been. I’m not going anywhere,”  wrote Enos.

After an outrage of responses on social media addressing the immediate change, some came to Trump’s defense saying the change was only a transition and Trump’s policies do not yet include these issues. One Twitter account, The People’s El-Bro, said, “Some context: Things disappearing from whitehouse dot gov is normal, because it’s part of the digital transition.

Trumps’ policies have alarmed many opposed to his views which include his policies on Energy and anti-police movements. An initial policy page, An America First Energy Plan, states:

Energy is an essential part of American life and a staple of the world economy. The Trump Administration is committed to energy policies that lower costs for hardworking Americans and maximize the use of American resources, freeing us from dependence on foreign oil…

Sound energy policy begins with the recognition that we have vast untapped domestic energy reserves right here in America. The Trump Administration will embrace the shale oil and gas revolution to bring jobs and prosperity to millions of Americans.

The page does address environmental concerns:

Lastly, our need for energy must go hand-in-hand with responsible stewardship of the environment. Protecting clean air and clean water, conserving our natural habitats, and preserving our natural reserves and resources will remain a high priority. President Trump will refocus the EPA on its essential mission of protecting our air and water.

On his fifth policy page Trump addresses the Law Enforcement community policies:

Standing Up For Our Law Enforcement Community
One of the fundamental rights of every American is to live in a safe community. A Trump Administration will empower our law enforcement officers to do their jobs and keep our streets free of crime and violence. The Trump Administration will be a law and order administration. President Trump will honor our men and women in uniform and will support their mission of protecting the public. The dangerous anti-police atmosphere in America is wrong. The Trump Administration will end it.

President Trump’s lack of healthcare policy on the White House website is not without some outside action by the new President. On Friday, President Donald Trump signed his first executive order as president, titled “Minimizing The Economic Burden Of The Patient Protection And Affordable Care Act Pending Repeal,” ordering federal agencies to ‘ease the burden’ of President Barack Obama’s healthcare law.
