American Indian Leadership Youth Council (A.I.L.Y.C.) 16TH Annual Spring Pow Wow, Oklahoma
When & Where: April 7th at the McCurtain County Sports Complex in Broken Bow, Oklahoma
The American Indian Leadership Youth Council will be holding there Annual Spring Pow wow for the sixteenth year in a row. Saturday’s festivities will begin a 11am and include stickball games, gourd dancing, and more. Dancers will compete in categories such as Men’s Fancy, Women’s buckskin, and the fan favorite, Tiny Tots. Your grand entry will be at 6:30pm and your Master of Ceremonies will be Albert Old Crow. All Nations Powwow of Ada Ok, Oklahoma
When & Where: April 7th at the East Central University’s Kerr Activities Center in Ada, Oklahoma
The All Nations Powwow will be guaranteed fun for all. With free admission at the door, attendees will enjoy authentic Native American arts and crafts, foods, music, dancing, and more. 19th Annual University of Iowa Powwow, Iowa
When & Where: April 7th – 8th at the University of Iowa Recreation Building in Iowa City, Iowa
Celebrating its 19th year, the University of Iowa’s American Indian Student Association hopes to “exuberantly convey the rich traditions and diverse cultures of the Native American community in North America.” This weekends festivities will begin at 10AM each day as contestant compete for cash prizes ranging from $100-$3000. Chambers Farms Spring Family Powwow, Florida
When & Where: April 6th – 8th at Chambers Farm in Fort McCoy, Florida.
Starting on Friday, the Chambers Farms Spring Family Powwow is “one of America’s largest Native American Gatherings” according to their myspace profile. This weekend powwow’s events will include gourd and intertribal dances, traditional Native American foods, and an “Honoring Ft. McCoy VFW Home” ceremony.
