Pow Wow Weekend Planner

This week has been chock-full of celebrations. Here at ICTMN, we can’t think of a better way to end this holiday week than to enjoy a wonderful, weekend powwow!

We’ve put together a great list of powwows happening all across the nation this weekend just for you!

If one of these incredible events is located near you, we recommend heading over to enjoy some lively dancing and drumming, thrilling musical performances, and delicious, authentic foods!

18th Annual Wildhorse Pow Wow, Oregon

When & Where: July 6th – 8th at the Umatilla Indian Reservation in Pendleton, Oregon.

This weekend event will be filled with dancing and drumming contests. Contestants will compete for more than $81,000 in cash and prizes. Dance categories include Men’s Grass, Women’s Jingle, Prairie Chicken Dance, and more! Your grand entry will be at 7pm on Friday and at 1pm on Saturday and Sunday. Grande Ronde Veterans’ Pow Wow, Oregon

When & Where: July 6th – 8th at the Uyxat Powwow Grounds in Grande Ronde, Oregon.

This year’s Grande Ronde Pow Wow will be in honor of our veterans. Special demonstrations include Owl Dance and Team Dance. Your Master of Ceremonies will be Nick Sixkiller. For more information about this event, click here.

Ermineskin Pow Wow, Alberta

When & Where: July 6th – 8th at the Bear Park in Hobbema, Alberta.

The Ermineskin Cree Nation 2012 Annual Powwow’s theme is “Honouring the Maskwacis Elders.” There will be a special presentation by the Louisa Wildcat Tiny Tots on Sunday afternoon. Your host drum will be Blackstone. For more information about this event, click here.
