9th Annual Dakota Homecoming and Gathering, Minnesota
When & Where: September 14th – 16th at Lake Park in Winona, Minnesota.
Festivities begin at 9AM on Friday to kick off with a Youth Education day. Saturday will begin with the sun at 6:30AM with a Sunrise Ceremony. Activities throughout the weekend will include tent-making demonstrations, traditional dancing, Moccasin Tournament, and more! For more information about this event, click here.

59th Annual Chicago Pow Wow, Illinois
When & Where: September 14th – 16th at the Navy Pier Grand Ballroom in Chicago, Illinois.
According to their site the annual Chicago Pow Wow strives each year to “promote the fellowship among Indian people of all Tribes living in metropolitan Chicago an to create bonds of understanding and communication between Indians and non-Indians in this city.” Weekend festivities include a fashion show by LeAnn Hascon Ward, Navajo, Native skateboarding demonstration, movie night, and more! Nottoway Indian Tribe of Virginia Powwow, Virginia
When & Where: September 15th – 16th at the Surry Parks & Recreation Center Grounds in Surry, Virginia.
Gates open each day at 10AM with a grand entry at 12PM on Saturday and 1PM on Sunday. Powwow goers will enjoy the authentic Native American crafts, storytelling, dancing, foods, and more. Autumn Harvest Powwow, New York
When & Where: September 15th – 16th at the Little Theatre on the Farm in Ft. Edward, New York.
Celebrating its second year, the annual Autumn Harvest Powwow is chockfull of great events. Gates open at 10AM each day. Special performances by Medicine Horse Drum, Onyota aka Oneida Dance Troupe, and Laughing Couple Interactive Storytellers. For more information about this event, click here.

37th Annual Trail of Courage Living History Festival, Indiana
When & Where: September 17th – 18th in Rochester, Indiana.
Know as the “place where history comes alive, where you can trace the very footsteps of history, and have a good time doing it,” the Trail of Courage Living History Festival takes attendees to another time and place in history. With “foods cooked over wood fires, period music and dance, traditional crafts,historic camps and trading, canoe rides on the river” attendees are transported to life as it was in the 1800’s.
