A free camp for boys and girls ages 8 to 17 is coming to the Seneca Sachems Football Field this Saturday and Sunday.
The Haudenosaunee Pro Football/Life Skills Camp is bringing legends like Coach Jim Warne, Oglala Lakota, to teach the kids leadership and life skills, medicine wheel philosophy, college preparation and nutrition and diabetes awareness. Coach Warne played in the NFL and is a member of the American Indian Athletic Hall of Fame.
Joining coach Warne will be assistant coaches Wade McGee, Cherokee, who broke Jim Thorpe’s rushing records at Haskell University and is the Athletic Director for the Coeur d’Alene Tribe in Idaho, and Todd Kalis, who played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings.
