School Newspaper Links Sioux Indian Teens to Their Community

On May 12, the VOA Special English Education Report focused on the school newspaper from Little Wound High School on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, home of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, in South Dakota.

The school’s new journalism teacher, Nicky Oulette, guides the 12 students through writing, editing and publishing the Mustang News. The student paper is included every other week with Lakota Country Times.
