What has been an absolutely stellar season for Citizen Potawatomi Nation’s Tyler Bray has taken an unfortunate turn for the superstar sophomore. With six minutes to go in the loss to rival Georgia, Bray broke his thumb on his throwing hand after smashing it on a defender’s helmet mid-throw.
Bray has had an amazing season up until this point. He’s completed 116 of his 176 pass attempts for 1,579 yards and a SEC conference leading 14 touchdowns (with only two interceptions.) Bray’s had at least three touchdown passes in seven of his nine starts over the past two seasons. The Volunteers are in dire straights, they have now lost their best offensive weapon only a week after losing their top wide receiver, Justin Hunter, with a torn ACL. Senior Matt Simms will now start at quarterback.
