Utah State U. Holds Iron Men’s Grass Dance Special

The Native American Student Council at Utah State University hosted this Iron Men’s Grass Dance Special on February 25th and 26th at the Nelson Field House on the Logan campus. This was the 38th Annual pow wow to be hosted by Utah State’s Native American Student Council (NASC).

Prizes included a $1,000 winner-takes-all drum contest. Other dance categories were the golden age, traditional, grass, fancy, jingle, tiny-tots and a NASC committee sponsored switch dance.

Some of the special in attendance were the Crazy Horse Singers of South Dakota, Jermaine Bell of Riverton, Wyo., Meredith Kanip of Fort Duchesne, Utah, Jeremy Garcia-Standing Soldier, of Cedar City, Utah, and Miss Indian Utah State University, Gabrielle George, who passed on her crown earlier in the week.
