Video: The Air in the Water: The Women Behind the Iroquois Nationals

The Iroquois Nationals took home a bronze medal in the U19 World Lacrosse Championship in Turku, Finland, after playing a stellar tournament, besting the eventual gold medal winners, Team USA, in their first matchup. The Nationals could never have made it to this level, however, were it not for the tireless efforts of the women who support the team. This video, filed by Indian Country Today Media Network’s videographer Gwendolen Cates, showcases some of the women behind the Nationals amazing run, with coaches of the team explaining how crucial these women are to the team. As coach Freeman “Boss” Bucktooth eloquently puts it, they’re the “air in our water.”
