Video: Young Singer’s Beautiful Voice Carries the U.S. National Anthem in Navajo

On December 21, 2008, Mariah Robbins sang the U.S. National Anthem in Navajo at a  Native American Celebration Day, honoring vets. What distinguishes this is not only that it is in Navajo, a language that turned the tide in the Pacific because of the Code Talkers in World War II, but the pure beauty of her voice. On a weekend when we honor and celebrate Veterans, especially Native American Vets and the Marine Corps (237 today!), it’s a lovely tribute. We at ICTMN welcome your comments about Veterans Day and Native American Heritage Month, celebrated all this month.
