WEWIN embraces honorees

Cecelia Fire Thunder, a founding member of Women Empowering Women for Indian Nations, embraced the 2010 WEWIN honorees at their annual conference held in Tulsa in July. Native women honored for their contributions to Indian country include, from left, Dr. Henrietta Mann, president of Cheyenne & Arapaho Tribal College; LaDonna Harris, founder of Americans for Indian Opportunity; former Cherokee Principal Chief Wilma Mankiller (whose daughter Gina Olaya accepted on her behalf); and Kalyn Free, attorney and founder of NDNs list.
