YouTube user deCoygal99 talks with William Wilson, vision project manager for the Museum of Contemporary Native Arts, about Manifestations: New Native Art Criticism project. The book focuses on the work of 60 living contemporary Native American artists who are based in the United States.
“There are 21 scholars that we have engaged, all who are also indigenous from the U.S. and Canada, who write about this. So it’s also about the promotion of scholarship from an indigenous perspective or point of view,” Wilson says.
He expects the book to be launched in August this year.
Wilson also discusses his work, which includes photo based installations. The video shows a hogan that he is currently working on, which will be a greenhouse where indigenous food species are cultivated.
