Here’s an update on our recent story about the quest by filmmakers Alex and Andrew Smith to bring James Welch’s novel Winter in the Blood to the screen. We just received the following e-mail:
We made it! We reached our Kickstarter goal of $60,000! And with time to spare! We want to thank everyone who pledged. Please watch our blog in the coming days to see your name on our list of favorite people. Thanks to you, we are able to bring interns, like the up-and-coming Deidra Peaches, to the film set on the Hi-Line.
If you didn’t get to pledge yet and now you’re feeling left out, never fear! We still have a whole day left of our Kickstarter campaign. If we make it to $75,000 by Wednesday at 8:44 PM (MST), then we can shoot for a whole extra day! That means we won’t have to cut the scene where Chaske Spencer and David Morse escape an alien invasion on twin Icelandic ponies! But seriously, in the tight-budget world of independent filmmaking, extra time is invaluable. And an incredible community surrounding the film is even more important.
Thank you for all your support and enthusiasm so far. We can’t wait to keep you updated on filming.
Here we go!
