Yupik Rock from Frozen Whitefish

Hailing from Bethel, Alaska, Frozen Whitefish play roots rock and cite as influences “Bobby Gregory, CCR, Jimi Hendrix, Nanook, The Country of Greenland.” All singing is done in the Yupik language, which made their material a natural fit for the soundtrack of the Discovery Channel’s reality TV series Flying Wild Alaska. Vocalist Mike McIntyre sent us this mp3 of “Maani Alaskami,” a demo version of one of the band’s newest songs. For more information, visit Frozen Whitefish’s MySpace page.
